Located in 9 Infirmary Street, this project proposed to re purpose thisĀ  historical building as an art gallery featuring constructivist and supremacist artwork. I intended to incorporate the colours, shapes and materials of this artwork into the interior structure of the building, using the abstract and asymmetric features of the paintings to create spaces forĀ visitors to explore.
The vertical circulation and user experience of the gallery was an important part of this project. Inspired by architects such as Tadao Ando, I developed my idea for asymmetrical concrete staircase cutting through the middle of the building, separating it into different spaces for visitors to explore.
